Volodya's chest and shirt are fully covered in blood as it flowed from the cut in his throat, it seeped into his ratty thin shirt and dried by the time Wolfgang found him like this. a lot of his skin on his face and neck is missing, and the artifical flesh and metal bones peeking out look somewhat rusted and worse for wear. it is not entirely clear if Volodya is dead or alive at this moment. second in a series of sequential digital illustrations. Wolfgang is looking up in surprise and sadness, tears welling in their eyes, as Volodya uses the last of his strength to lift his arm and grip their face, gently lifting their chin and smearing blood on their cheek. dialogue indicates Volodya's voice comes out as a distorted whisper as he says (translated from Ukrainian) "dream.. listen to me". last in a series of sequential digital illustrations. Wolfgang lifted themself up to listen closely to what Volodya has to say. Volodya is leaning close to Wolfgang's ear, he's gripping their coat with a trembling strength, smearing blood over the plastic. Wolfgang's expression is a naked shock, tears falling from their eyes in sadness, disbelief and confusion as they hear Volodya declare his dying words: "We were here first."
