Here's showing not to let a #SpaceWeather #SpaceWX forecast sway you from doing a #POTA #parksontheairair activation. A Index (27) K Index (6) Solar Winds 429+ at 1000 UTC over U.S. today but here's a sample of the strong #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #MorseCode CW signals received

Minimal #hamradio #amateurradio #qrp #qrpradio setup for what #spaceweather said was a dismal morning. NOT for today's #40m #amateurradio #hamradio #cw #morsecode #parksontheair #pota activation. Can't always accept a #spacewx #solarcycle25 forecast.

The stealthy #solarstorm has arrived and it is beginning to really look good for #aurora shows, despite being pretty slow. Aurora chasers in the Western and those down under should get some decent periodic brightenings through morning as substorms ramp up!

Compromised Antenna? Not Today! AX1 Activation at Fort Dobbs State Historic Site
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, my wife, Hazel, and I were heading back from Greensboro, NC along Interstate 40 when I thought it fitting to make a short detour to Fort Dobbs State Historic Site for a quick POTA activation. Fortunately, both my wife and Hazel agreed. We all wanted to stretch our legs, and Fort Dobbs is a wonderful park to do just that.

By Steve (KV4AN) My XYL and her sister like to go yard sale-ing on Saturday morning (this is the practice of buying other people’s junk so you can throw it away for them), so I’ve had two beautiful Saturday mornings to do a pair of quick drive-up SOTA activations here in Northern Alabama.  The first Saturday, I went to Gunters Mountain, which is around an hour away near Swearengin, Alabama.

It's a review for me, as I've been an electrical design reviewer and standards writer since 1985. If you don't know George Ohm, have a read. It's not that hard to wrap your mind […]

On large screen the prediction will change as the target destination is moved to a new location. The inset will move to get out of the way of the target as needed.
