BREAKING: A federal judge (Reagan appointee) just held that DOJ, DOS, & DHS has engaged in a coordinated assault on pro-Palestine speech. He found the plan was to harshly punish some of those speaking out to deter others. He also conceded that the gov't won't respect this ruling.

Under yesterday’s executive order, the feds dictate that cash bail is required for a massive range of offenses, and order a cut-off of federal funding for any city/county that doesn’t comply.

An immigration decision I received today came with this bullying trash attached. And this is for someone who won withholding (after a discretionary asylum denial, which basically says "yes you were persecuted & will likely die in the future but I just don't think you deserve safety"). Grotesque.

Many people have seen ICE officers brutally kidnapping people going to immigration court.
Fewer seem aware that ICE is then torturing them: caging them in packed holding rooms where they have to sleep upright, don't get fed, can't get medical, can't bathe/change clothes—often for more than a week.

DOJ targeted Columbia University Apartheid & its supporters by trying to get a warrant to identify people involved in its IG account, AND people who liked or followed posts calling to "free them all" and demanding accountability for CU enablers of genocide.

NEW: Nationwide injunction barring DHS from re-terminating SEVIS records, based on finding it likely that DHS plans to just dress up and re-terminate SEVIS records for everyone who was previously terminated (in other words, this judge is saying "ICE is gonna keep shamelessly breaking the law").

ICE was trying to block a court order demanding Rumeysa get transferred back to Vermont for habeas/release hearings. This means Rumeysa will be transferred back & fairly likely released.

This is one group of many. This group has location-specific chats to ensure people can police speech at a college near them. When a prof says something they don't like, they churn out Title VI complaints. They get events & groups cancelled. The head of this group is buddy buddy with NYU's president.

I get the "due process" demand. But 1 thing it fails to contend with is the masses mobilized around bounty-hunting. Take MACA—Mothers Against Campus Antisemitism—which has a 60k-person surveillance network that monitors campuses, demands firing/deportation, & celebrates Islamophobic+racist violence.
