You have to take their money. Period.

I think many are not fully reckoning with the fact that the US government is repeatedly flexing an unlimited authority to murder political opponents (in the streets, at sea, in ICE cages, in foreign countries) at will, then make up whatever facially obviously fake explanation they want.

DHS is murdering people for legal observing, murdering people for protesting, murdering people for trying to get away from them. They're murdering people through torture in ICE cages. They're murdering people by sending them to their deaths.

DHS is a murder machine.

Folks remember that Tricia McLaughlin was caught lying about:

The LaMonica McIver incident
The Marimar Martinez shooting
The Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez shooting
Virtually everything about Kilmar Abrego
Virtually every other use of force incident

In LA, ICE shot a man that they claimed was trying to run them over and are now indicting him. It's a pattern of victim-blaming to justify the use of excessive force.

Just as they are claiming in Minneapolis, ICE said in their previous fatal shooting that the person they killed tried to run them over. Video showed that was simply not true. Media has a responsibility to provide this context when sharing DHS statements.

Given news that ICE shot and killed an observer in Minneapolis, here is a pattern we've seen before:
*DHS say officers were under threat. This justifies to use deadly force.
*Subsequent reporting shows such claims simply don't hold up.

If you are focusing on:
- grievances against Maduro
- management practices of the Venezuelan oil industry
- ”narco-trafficking”
- or, yes, congressional authorization

Then you are collaborating.

The US is asserting the power to kidnap heads of state on a whim. This is now a war of aggression.
January 3, 2026 at 8:19 PM
A major theme of their strategy with ramping up ICE's violence has been turning the US Code upside down to find (or invent) legal landmines to use against people. And they don't even have to stretch to do that here: it's provided for right there in the law.
January 3, 2026 at 6:08 PM
Absolutely. His asides during the press conference about "taking care of Venezuelans in the US who had to leave" (paraphrasing) were a massive euphemistic threat to Venezuelans seeking asylum here. I'm also worried they will try to "terminate" asylum status for people they've already granted it to.

Which is to say, of course Chevron communicated with the White House before US coup of Venezuela.

Right now, Exxon is at SCOTUS demanding a green light to pillage Cuba's national coffers (www.scotusblog.com/cases/case-f...) as "compensation" for Castro seizing the oil refineries in 1960.

Cuba seized the oil assets when Exxon (then Standard Oil) refused to refine oil to help Eisenhower invade.

They've also threatened to re-invade states throughout the US if they don't get political acquiescence.

Fascism at home and abroad—one project—and it's an accelerating existential threat to everyone.

In the past 24 hours, Rubio and Trump have threatened to kidnap, kill, or coup President Sheinbaum of Mexico, President Petro of Colombia, and President Diaz-Canel of Cuba.

This is deadly serious.

Reminder that Trump 1 indicted Maduro in 2020 (hence, "superseding"), swarmed Venezuela with US navy ships, & almost invaded then: www.usnews.com/news/world/a...

Reminder that this was the pretext Bush 1 gave for invading Panama and ultimately kidnapping and prosecuting Noriega (see screenshot).
January 3, 2026 at 3:37 PM
and the US expressly internationalized and applied this logic to foreign heads of state in 1989 with the invasion of panama to kidnap noriega on drug trafficking charges
