New Genre Suggestion: Spicy Ralph Nader Fanfic. Still from the new film ‘WTO 99.’ Plots could include: what happens if the people won the Battle of Seattle, if Nader beat Bush in 2000, cozy nights with the monotone populist ideologue, hot leftist nerds…🤣💕🌹🤩😎🥰 #booksky 📚💙

True Biz a novel by Sara Nović. Don’t let the Reese sticker fool you- this is a srsly great book. Part instructional, part romance, punk rock, angry teens, many females who pass the Bechdel test…I want to know more about Elliot, Austin and all the characters- including the school!

Anyone complaining about the health effects of “ultra-processed” foods who isn’t also concerned by global poverty, climate change, HIV, Tuberculosis, the abrupt ripping away of USAID funding: You’re not fooling anyone. Pack up your table and go home.

I love that the alcohol lobby (there’s an alcohol lobby?!) managed to sway Senators to support banning hemp but no existing lobby (health insurance, hospitals, churches) can even get the attention of same Senators to support Medicaid or SNAP to keep poor and disabled Americans safe, fed and healthy.

People! Please! You don’t actually need Google or a.i. You can call or go to a Library! Librarians know special languages to search for answers in all kinds of databases. And they don’t need a bunch of electricity or fresh water to do so. You might even make a friend!

The writing is stellar and the atmosphere is remarkably drawn. In the first 4 chapters the plot is more depressing than A Series of Unfortunate Events. That’s right, Lemony Snicket is uplifting compared to Booth, which I finally had to quit bc I just couldn’t take it. #booksky 💙📚

If you are a person using the word “kiddo” with a straight face- please stop. When I was one, back in the Reagan administration, it was clear to me it was patronizing. Now, many decades later, it’s like saying ‘Daddio.’ Find a better word. ‘Children’ or even ‘kids’ will suffice. 🤦🏻‍♀️😎🤩🤣

Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life by Jon Lee Anderson

I can’t imagine any living person in 2025 saying any of these words about anyone alive or dead. We’ve lost so much as a culture since this book was published (1997.)

NPR using their top of the hour news to plug the Capitalist favorite DST- contradicting research indicating that Standard Time (“fall back”) is best for everyone is just… unbelievable? No, predictable at this point. Tsk tsk I am so tired of watching my favorite institutions just roll over.
