(1/9) It's only December, and I'm probably going to fit maybe one more in by the end of the year, but I smashed my 2024 reading goal. A couple of re-reads but a lot of new things. www.goodreads.com/user_challen...

A couple of standouts in no particular order that I highly recommend:

To be fair to Trump, I don't think this is a sign of dementia, everything else is, but this is just Trump.being such a narcissistic baby that he literally has zero patience for anything that's not about him. He's zoning out.

Extremely satisfying puzzle today. Not a lot of clues, but you feel real good when you make the inferences.

If your engine is giving you citations that, at best half are valid, and at worse only a fifth (according to another engine (do you use a third engine to check the second engine?)) are you even saving any time?
I use one LLM (e.g. Grok Expert) to generate citations on a topic, e.g. in a table format, then ask another LLM to validate like ChatGPT. This weeds out dodgy citations pretty well but will attrition 50-80% of your citations. This is important. Also LLMs don't evaluate the "validity" of work...

Quick Q about how you are interpreting the clue Q unless P. I took a single semester logic 15 years ago, so I'm not current. I know that if ~P > Q, but I've seen conflicting information about whether Q&P is consistent. I think yes, but just curious on how itll work on Clues

I think one of the problems with developing a coherent policy is that people like you keep referring to them as 'illegals'. Nobody is going to spend time coming up with a humane, coherent policy for people others keep referring to as criminals.

We badly need a coherent policy for otherwise-law-abiding illegals who've been in the U.S. for years.

I created a thread where I share the link to the zine I made on bgg for the new codenames.

Hey everyone! It’s the day after Gen Con and I’m planning to be in recovery for at least a week before I can really be active again—but I wanted to offer this resource to the community who wants it. ...

No mention of the specific IP that is upsetting people, who is feeling hurt and betrayed, or any mention as to why. Generic, bland, nothing statement. I stand by my prediction that CGE will not have a satisfying resolution to this.
July 30, 2025 at 11:52 PM
CGE will not have anything satisfying to say about the partnership. They can't. They are pot committed at this point. Almost certainly they paid WB or w.e. a fat fee, and/or minimum royalty guarantees. Hopefully the negative press causes them to lose on the deal. They aren't going to backtrack.
Omg they’re removing all the quotes ahahhhahah post is still up tho lmao
