Globally, yes, many Americans & Europeans are "rich" compared to 50% of the world, and yes, we do output more carbon as well, but your original wording and responses could have been better. I don't think I would have picked Seattle, either. Lol

Laws and regulations are essential, but they need to be streamlined by experts. An EHR is necessary, yet it's often designed by individuals without medical experience. The system should support clinicians in their work rather than serve as a billing checklist. This only scratches the surface.

I'm in Healthcare IT in the US. The third point is something I am passionate about fixing. I truly believe that technology can assist in making patient care more efficient and safer. Still, we've allowed too much bloat into the system that forces the clinician to treat the computer, not the patient.
