Major milestone: AI-generated articles now officially outnumber human-written ones online. Search engines still favor uniquely human content. BUT, it's a new chapter leading us to think about how knowledge is produced and surfaced on the web.

I had this happen in at least three talks on the same day

A “costume” label in Google Trends filters for literal, entity-specific searches, while a “topic” aggregates all related global searches and synonyms under one concept. Categories are narrow and precise; topics are broad and algorithmically clustered.

When it comes to Halloween ALT text, don't just describe the costume, capture the vibe. If you're going to say: "mummy costume on a child", try "Remember that one time your mom rolled you up in toilet paper and called it a day? This kids' mummy costume gets the look just right".

This is...insane. I basically rely on muscle memory and UX conventions to make this work. No confirm button and if you click anywhere else than where the confirm button isn't...it doesn't get recorded. But if I click where I think it should be then the date gets recorded.

Tis the season! If there's something weird in your SERPs...it's the new normal.

I keep going on about all natural ethically harvested skeletons as a joke but considering the Halloween decor trends, I have no clue where one would find a 12 foot tall skeleton.

Every year I make the same plea for the environment.
PSA: This year, say no to plastic skeletons for Halloween.
Locally sourced, all natural skeletons are much better for the environment.

Maybe this year will be another big skeleton year (it's always a big skeleton year really)

Intrusive thought of the day: what if we could get to a point where AI overviews know which images would help us contextualize written content better. I would love to have memes to go along with definitions.

Semantic triples are a powerful way to feed LLMs:

Reduce ambiguity → turn vague marketing into machine-readable facts

Ensure factual consistency → one source of truth for your brand

Optimize for knowledge graphs → stronger retrieval + reasoning

No marketing fluff.

I think I'm fucking funny BUT that nobody in their right mind would like this LinkedIn content.

The best tip I took away from SMX London was that my home circumcision business listing on Google maps.

From snapshots to solutions: customers search differently. Here's what you should do: identify modalities, map new user journeys, audit your presence.

Should we call it AEO or GEO? Who cares. Build a machine-readable brand. AI is your silent brand manager. Deal with it. You need to engineer a brand that’s machine-readable, contextually rich and discoverable in every search modality.

Quick tip straight from my #SMXLondon deck: check if Google recognizes your company logo or if at the very least, it can read what's written.

Head on over to: cloud.google.com/vision/docs/...
Drop your logo in there.
See what happens!

I'm talking about this on Sep 19th!
