Right now there are a lot of new eyes on Signal, and not all of them are familiar with secure messaging and its nuances. Which means there’s misinfo flying around that might drive people away from Signal and private communications. 1/

My dudes, Telegram is not an e2e messaging app like Signal or WhatsApp. Telegram is more like Twitter. It is a social media app that is mostly public content that also happens to have DMs, where you can turn on e2e messaging with questionable cryptography that most people never even bother to use.

The endless screaming you may hear is me, thinking about all the implications of this level of surveillance used for mundane conveniences and being processed by one of the most invasive and extractive companies the world has ever known.
