I’m so fed up with this propaganda that’s been shoved down our throats for the past 50 years, about how it’s not government’s job to help people. fuck you completely. helping its people is literally what a government is for. FDR’s New Fucking Deal (yes, that’s what it was called in the first draft) provided a well-funded social safety net that lifted millions of Americans out of poverty and created the strongest middle class we’ve ever seen. look, it’s nice that some churches are willing to step into the breach and feed their communities as best they can — but they can’t do it alone. they don’t have the resources of a federal government. I can’t believe I have to explain this to the Lieutenant Governor of an entire state. fuck you fuck you fuck you.
