Just your friendly reminder that healthcare does not follow free market principles and people continue to die for profit in the current system.

And this is only going to get worse as uninsured rates skyrocket with the Medicaid cuts and ACA subsidies expirations

It is not lost on me that a bunch of weak old men who can't handle one bad comment against them are telling women to "suck it up" and not take the one well-studied safe medication for pain and fever in pregnancy based on non-existent evidence that it causes autism 🙃

One of the greatest honors as an emergency physician is to be able to care for everyone no matter where they come from or what their beliefs are. One of the greatest heartbreaks is telling families their loved ones have died from gun violence.

Actions mean more than words.

And the fact that the new COI rules are not being applied to the new hand-picked Advisory Council on Immunization Practices, speaks volumes.

Our analysis, which shows that more women nearly bled to death during miscarriage after Texas banned abortion, adds to a growing body of reporting revealing that maternal outcomes have gotten worse under bans.
Miscarriage Is Increasingly Dangerous for Women in Texas, Our Analysis Shows. Here’s How We Did It.
Using seven years of hospital discharge data, we found that the number of blood transfusions during emergency room visits for first-trimester miscarriage shot up by 54% since Texas banned abortion.

Thanks to Senate Republicans, 17 million people will lose their health care.

Thanks to Senate Republicans, three million Americans, including veterans and seniors, will lose food assistance.

Thanks to Senate Republicans, families will see their energy bills go up by $400 a year.

Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.

Work requirements ➡️ kicking eligible adults off their healthcare due to administrative burden. #ArkansasWorks is an example, where ~18,000 people were kicked off Medicaid inappropriately ➡️ to significant deleterious healthcare effects.

The GOP budget bill will hurt so many to benefit so few

KFF takes a new look at data on Medicaid and work requirements.

Like our previous analyses, this shows a majority of Medicaid expansion adults who would be subject to work requirements in the House reconciliation bill are working 80+ hours in a month: on.kff.org/4kWYmfO

What is it about socialism that scares so many people and calls for this much fear-mongering? Can they not fathom the empathy it takes to care more about the collective good than individual power?

Got my hair cut yesterday, and my stylist said for the longest time when she listened to the news she heard "Rhonda Santis" and was so confused about the governor of FL.

Honestly would make an excellent drag queen name and now I need this to happen 😂
