As Americans we should be able to empathize for the person that has died, even if we vehemently disagreed with them. We also have a lot of reflecting and work to do as a country to end gun and political violence. Today I am heartbroken.

I will not agree with every policy proposal put forth by democratic socialists or staunch progressives. But I have to imagine @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social won the NYC mayoral dem primary in part because of his palpable care for his community. And that should be celebrated
