This is inevitably the result when people who don’t know anything about what govt agencies do are put in charge of hollowing them out. All of these kid’s deaths are ultimately on Trump.

But I thought Fordo was obliterated. No wonder Iran didn’t try to retaliate. It wasn’t worth provoking another attack and they knew Trump would satisfied claiming a great victory.

While there’s a lot about tactical considerations, there’s absolutely nothing in this article about what strategic goal if any Trump was trying to accomplish.

@ericlipton.nytimes.com Isn’t auctioning off access to Trump to the highest bidder solicitation of a bribe? Can a President really say “I’ll have dinner with you but only if you hand me a paper bag with a million bucks”? The Sup Ct seems to think everything he does is an official act.

Isn’t the whole point of America’s involvement to give the victim Ukraine an advantage in negotiations with Putin the aggressor? Instead Trump sees his role as being a neutral broker rather than an ally of one of the opposing sides. But the only thing that can lead to is Ukrainian capitulation.

This was clearly retaliation, something which is expressly illegal under the IG Act. Trump can fire IGs but he can’t do it for an impermissible reason.
