Finally got around to watching The Lost Bus, wowser it gets pretty tense for a while there, plus boasts some great cinematography! #filmsky

Nuremberg - Crowe and Malek are compelling in their scenes together, and its underlying message resonates with current world events, but this is film that definitely would have benefited from a much tighter narrative focus. 7/10. #filmsky

Heck this bead of sweat should have been Oscar’s nominated….

Dead Man’s Wire - a gem of a film that is among the most impressive “based on real life” takes of recent years. It finely balances tension and humour, has an accomplished supporting cast and Skarsgård is dynamite in the lead role . Absurd that Van Sant shot this in only 19 days. 9/10. #filmsky

Bugonia - a darkly satirical film which delights in flipping the audiences expectations on their heads. Stone and Plemons are tremendous in roles that lesser actors could not pull off. 9/10. #filmsky

Boy George & Culture Club - this documentary is at its best when digging in to the bands origins but more diplomatic than insightful when dealing with the later more difficult times. Still, the band members are never less than engaging and it’s nicely presented. 7/10. #filmsky

Completed the Bampton Woods circular walk today, nice little route with just the one slightly hilly section.

It’s better not to take headlines at face value these days. There is no one party dominating and several closely grouped together. Even if GW’s party nominally has the most votes it doesn’t mean they have “won” anything and it’s likely their vote share will be down a lot than the last election.

34. Mares Nest - wrapped things up with this rather dream like take on post-apocalyptic storytelling. While the concept as a whole doesn’t quite take, many kudos to its precocious and engaging young cast. 6/10. #LFF #filmsky

33. The History of Sound - despite a few pacing issues, this beautiful exploration of the profound impact music can have on the soul is the film that has touched me more than any other this festival, underpinned by two sensitive and vulnerable performances by Mescal & O'Connor. 9/10. #LFF #filmsky

32. After the Hunt - develops intricate layers of complex characterisations for the core cast which are never fully utilised and the last scene feels like a cop out. Julia Roberts is terrific though so not all is lost. 6/10. #LFF #filmsky
