My grandmother used to serve a big segmented “candy dish” full of like 8 different kinds of pickles and olives, and it was one of the best parts.

The pickles really help balance the heaviness of all the carbs.

Yeah. I talked to someone once who, when using them in a Greek salad for example, insisted on leaving out the mushy centre parts with the seeds.

Me: You know what? I totally understand what you’re doing there.

“Do you have trouble reading facial expressions?”

I don’t know??? Is that a magic element I’m missing? Maybe?

“Do find yourself wishing people would just say what they mean instead of expecting you to guess?”

OMG YES. This. So. Much.

In general I find so many of the formal assessments focus on the ways ND people DON’T think rather than the ways they do.

Like testing for colourblindness by asking which colours a person misses most. They don’t know. Hence the test.

Focusing on experiences people DO uniquely have works better.

And then still plenty of ND people who do give them a hard nope.

It’s not a yes or no question so much as a prompt for the “rules” people tend to have about them.

Only if very fresh.
Only if sliced very thin.
Eaten separately from the burger or sandwich rather than inside it.
Can’t be overripe….

Whereas NT people usually have given it little to no thought.
