I’ve been a loyal listener of ABC Sydney 702, but lately I’ve found myself tuning out. The on-air tone feels increasingly insular, as if the presenters represent only a narrow, privileged segment of Sydney. It’s become a bit too chummy and club-like for my taste.

For those of us who enjoy the purple prose of Lizza V. Nuzzi, the bell has rung for round two.

I don’t want to kink-shame, but this is kinda revolting.
The bamboo metaphor is back: Ryan Lizza has dropped Part 2.

Below are the opening paragraphs, but most of it is behind a paywall.

(My apologies in advance.)

I really hope Pauline Hanson never discovers that we’re teaching kids Arabic numerals.
when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

If you grew up watching Brady Bunch reruns, this short is a fun blast of nostalgia.

The way they’ve rebuilt the studio set inside the iconic intro house is so faithful, it feels like stepping right back into the world we remember so well.

Christopher Yarvin, the self-proclaimed intellectual guru for tech billionaires like Peter Thiel (a major backer of JD Vance), envisions a world run by tech bros under a monarchical system. His ideas have the intellectual depth of a first-year stoner philosophy student.

John Lithgow reading Timothy Snyder’s Twenty Lessons on Tyranny is definitely worth a listen—and worth sharing.
"On Tyranny" is a #1 NYT bestseller again. I wish the moment were different. But I’m glad the book is useful. And grateful for all the kind words about putting the 20 lessons to work.
