He lived out his faith through love and service by pursuing peace worldwide, teaching Sunday school, and building 4,447 homes with Habitat for Humanity.

This is unfortunately true. Growing up in Methodism I thought women being equal in the church and having access to being ministers was the norm. I learned the hard way it is not, so many of my contemporaries have had to fight tooth and nail with their own congregations to accept them.

Unfortunately I relate to this sentiment a lot. We allowed this to occur and subsequently we will be reeling its effects for years to come.
I hope I'm wrong and this is an inconsequential 4 years but I highly doubt it.

C.S Lewis who seemed to understand the insanity that needed to go away in Christianity. Some of his writings on "national repentance" absolving oneself of having to do anything are chilling but sobering.

Advent can remind us of the Blessed Hope that already have in Christ and can look to when we find out hearts riddled with the stress and overwhelm of this season, and how it can turn to solemness for many who have lost, but despite this, we know that they are in the courts of Heaven today.

It's simple. God demands his justice be realized on earth, so anyone who is following the Great Commission is called to spread the Good News to ensure they can do their part in serving their neighbors and advocating for them. Any rhetoric that is against this is against God. #UMC #StayUMC
