“Walk My Walk,” an AI-generated country track by a fabricated artist named Breaking Rust, just hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart. No human singer, just code and marketing swagger. Country music, built on human grit and memory, now faces its synthetic reflection.

This Day in Music History – Oct 27 🎶

1982 — Prince drops 1999, blending synth-funk, pop, & R&B into a purple prophecy. “Party like it’s 1999” becomes a generational mantra.

2013 — Lou Reed passes at 71. From Velvet Underground to “Walk on the Wild Side,” he left the weird kids a home.

Yoooo..The 2025 Drumpocalypse is reallll. Foo Fighters, NIN, The Who, GNR, and Bob Dylan’s band all lost theirs. Now the Disco Biscuits have kicked out longtime drummer Allen Aucoin and sent him off with a diss track. This is the end of an era.

In case anybody’s wondering why Meta/Threads’ algorithm is fucked, I just logged in and immediately logged out after seeing my feed inundated with conspiracy theories that Taylor Swift is a nazi for selling a necklace with lightning bolts that reference her Opalite song lyric…about lightning strikes

Spotify just said they deleted about 75 million AI generated or fake tracks in the last year. Thats almost half of its total archive. Thats wild, but good. We support the actual humans still making music and the ones not gaming the algorithm so others talent can’t be seen.

Sylvan Esso just pulled their entire catalog from Spotify over its ties to defense contractors — and dropped a new single, “WDID,” on their own label. That’s a bold stand and we’re here for it.

Edinburgh’s city council is advising no fireworks at Murrayfield going forward after AC/DC’s Aug. 21 closer pushed past permitted noise levels. The show drew eight noise complaints and with similar gripes around earlier Oasis gigs at the same venue. We wouldn’t expect anything less.

We love a good music debate and respect all opinions but if you think Bad Bunny doesn’t deserve to perform at the Super Bowl then you need to check this man’s stats. He’s not niche, like we’ve heard some say, he’s one of the biggest stars in the world.

🎸Prince played 27 instruments on his debut album in 1978 and he was just 19 years old. That’s insane. He wrote, produced, arranged, and played every instrument on the entire album, including drums, guitar, bass, piano, synths, and even orchestral parts.

Literal one-man band. Iconic.
