Well before he lost the nation, ousted Opposition leader Peter Dutton was losing his own home seat crowd. Remember the old wisdom that all politics is local! Thanks to @climate200.bsky.social #auspol

Don’t know about you, but all of these incredible images of our increasingly known universe make me feel very humble; and more concerned than ever about what we insignificant humans are doing to the remarkable home planet we’ve been blessed with by the best luck since the Big Bang.

Don’t know about you, but all of these incredible images of our increasingly known universe make me feel very humble; and more concerned than ever about what we insignificant humans are doing to the remarkable home planet we’ve been blessed with by the best luck since the Big Bang.
What was it Paul Keating said? Oh yes, always back the horse called self interest, because at least you know it will be trying!

Would love to see #COP31 locked in for 2026 hosting by Australia with Pacific nations as an outcome from #COP29 in Azerbaijan. Two years to prepare will allow a high quality and impactful event, as long as Australia doubles down on its #climate targets and ambitions.

I covered the early heat-driven mass coral bleaching events in the late 1990s, for the Sydney Morning Herald, when engaged scientists warned it would get worse and become common. Sadly, they were right!
