U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

"I don't know."

For a White House that claims Trump is involved in every policy decision, there's a lot he doesn't know about...

Regarding the new Presidential plaques on display at the White House, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN "As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.” Yeah, right!! The phrase "a student of history" is doing a lot of work there.

The man occupying the White House gave a speech to the nation this evening that rehashed all the sane talking points except one pertaining to military bonuses. It reeked of a desperate attempt to gain goodwill from his base and buy more time.

Shouldn't networks require some sort of purpose for primetime addresses? I don't understand how a president who's known for lying can be given precious network airtime just so he can give a worn-out campaign speech and make no news.

immigrants score the lowest on tests, but they also take all our jobs, while at the same time taking all the welfare and buying all the homes

“Voters said they punished Republicans for Trump’s policies on the economy, health care, and immigration... The best explanation for 2025 is that voters didn’t know what they were getting with Trump 2.0 last November, but now they do — and they don’t like it.”

“GOP shut down the government to distract you. They shut the government down not because they care about spending but because… they don’t want you talking about the #EpsteinFiles, sluggish job growth, shrinking GDP, and the widening trade deficit that the tariffs were supposed to fix but [did not].”
Watching this makes it clear. They are gaslighting America over pennies while immigrants pay billions they’ll never use. It’s a distraction from the Epstein files, job losses, shrinking GDP and the widening trade deficit.

Don’t get distracted. Stay focused.

I beg to differ. This is curated failure.

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.

Corruption in the US is at an all time high. The Trump family is setting the tone, and the SEC is no where to be found. Republicans have not held any oversight to date. I can’t wait for dems to take back the house, just so we can call out the abuses.
