Marisa Kabas is doing some of the best reporting on the Trump regime's abuses of law and people. In this case, she explains the chicanery involved in a massive program to build new concentration camps -- in warehouses. (Big Journalism hasn't noticed, of course.) […]

Years ago I worked in AM radio and one of my stints was as a local news guy. I'd go to the city and county council meetings and record audio as well as take notes. I'd then edit parts of the audio recording into my news clip. The local newspaper guy was also there taking written notes but not […]

One UI pattern that I really wish would die is the thing where you have a page of items—movies, tutorials, blog posts, whatever—and the one your cursor is over expands and pops up,. I always try to find the gutter to keep my cursor in so I can peruse the page in peace, but some sites don't even […]

According to its roadmap, Callipeg is coming to desktop, and I've heard it's likely later this year. That would make it a pretty compelling choice for animation software, for me at least. #animation #callipeg

I hope Dems understand that the flip side of the "affordability" message is corruption. Trump is not bringing down costs, he's stealing your tax money to enrich himself & his family. You're forced to save & cut back; he's living like fucking Caligula.

Several of the animators I follow and learn from use TVPaint, which looks fantastic but is kind of pricey. And to be frank, I'm surprised such a pricey piece of software still isn't ready for MacOS Tahoe. Like... what is that price tag going toward? #animation

Union members, please start pushing your unions to push for universal basic income. We all need an unconditional floor and deserve a GDP dividend. Plus UBI would strengthen unions by functioning as a national strike fund for strikes of any duration, and even enable general strikes to be HUGE.

State vaccine requirements for school entry are absolutely essential if we have any hope of maintaining herd immunity.

It is madness for states to repeal these requirements. And vaccine exemptions should not be permitted unless for a documented medical contraindication.
