Hellfire existed in this era of early janky expansions that was just wild. New classes used old art with monster spell effects etc. Other games were doing it too, Red Alert had giant ants and Tesla tanks using the base tank model with Tesla coil art shooting from them. Entire games had this vibe.

The cats have no idea what to do when we yell “he has a mole again GO OUTSIDE” of course (and the mole is often yelling) so it’s always a fun surprise. One time a mole ran under the roomba, its natural ally, and just stuck its little head out to taunt the cats while beneath their greatest enemy.

- huge-ass spider, bigger spider how big do they get here? Its legs didn’t fit inside of a glass
- Shrew-moles: the debated if these were shrews or moles, they are both kind of!

There are these little tiny snakes here but they are like the chihuahua of snake — they will not back down and will do little angry bites at you instead of moving slightly away from you off the path. Here is gizmo mid-smacking one over and over and over and over

There aren’t many games where you just get to be a mage. Like a real, DnD, must align your crystals kind of mage. I liked both Dragons Dogma and FF Origins for letting me pick a fragile caster that had to stand still for 10 seconds to get a spell out and then it felt really satisfying.

Finally getting around to playing a bunch of 2’s I’ve been putting off (Divinity, RDR, GOW, TLOU, Dragons Dogma) - I know this is years behind but the pacing for TLOU2 is really on point. Feels like Mario Odyssey in terms of not wearing out it’s welcome on any one thing so far.
