There is nowhere safe to go in Gaza.

Israeli forces have ordered thousands of Palestinians in Gaza City to evacuate as the military prepares another major assault.

States should act to prevent genocide in Gaza and press Israel to reverse course.

Lol, you know you're Irish when ... you're all confused watching a TV show or film until you realise you're supposed to be assuming the British spies/soldiers/cops the good guys. Also the immersion, Mass, etc, hahaha lol.

It has been almost two years since Hamas led the deadliest attack on Israel in the country’s history.

Not a single person has been charged or prosecuted for it, and the entire subject is shrouded in secrecy.
Israel Hasn’t Prosecuted a Single Suspect for the Oct. 7 Attack
Israel has extensively documented the 2023 Hamas-led assault and is believed to be holding at least 200 Palestinians suspected of involvement. Not one has been charged or put on trial.

This is so bad.
This will be used to make profit. This will be used by private insurance companies. This will be used for advertising. And shitty studies. No chance that this will help patients

Interesting comparison of how different 'crises' are framed. Kathrin Lauberet al. "(Re)acting (to) the crisis: A comparative analysis of crisis framing in obesity, climate change, antimicrobial resistance, and the UK cost-of-living crisis" journalhosting.ucalgary.ca/index.php/jc...

sure, Adobe updated every 15 minutes, but the pdf reader worked fine for years ... until, of course, they added AI (dis)functionality. Opening a basic text document in 2025 should not feel as messy and bloaty as pirating music in 2003, but here we are.

Whenever it comes up in conversation, Brendan says that he went to school in the North Inner City.

He means Belvedere, but he doesn’t say that.

My @ucc.ie colleague @jodymooreponce.bsky.social is doing brilliant work on the historical sociology of what we now call lived experience. Get a flavour of her forthcoming papers and monograph in this Irish Examiner article: www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/comm...
‘Lived experience’ is valued in activism – but is it doing more harm than good?
Those without direct experience of an issue can find their place in activism questioned, but an emphasis on personal testimony can shift activism away from political action, toward guilt, polarisation...
