A lot of cool stuff coming to Open SaaS! Vinny did a great job refining all the ideas and requests.

It's a goldmine for hungry OSS contributors.

I installed Zed and about to give it a test ride. I've been looking for a way to recreate my Vim setup. VS Code couldn't live up. This is a new ray of hope.

Our Design-AI-Thon is over and we're now judging the submissions!

I like this one but kinda looks weirdly familiar... ☁️ 🔥

It's probably nothing

From my >15 years of coding, 90% of writing good software lies in giving good names to things.

Forget all about OOP patterns, crazy inheritance techniques, etc. When you'll need these, you'll know.

Read this (or feed it to your LLM) and start producing code that's joy to read:

We're back from our retreat in Heidelberg! It was amazing to see everybody in person again. A bunch of hacking, ideas exchanged and a lot of alignment on the big picture for @WaspLang.

More details coming soon!

We're kicking off an internal wasp hackathon tomorrow. Here's the list of ideas we came up with - which would you like to see?

v0 and Same didn’t make the cut.

v0 did a fun Retro design, but I couldn’t get it to generate multiple variants no matter what I tried.

Same’s UI felt clunky. My site kept getting “shut down,” and I had to wait every time I came back.

@claudeai’s Claude Code felt completely different, but in a good way.

Everything ran locally on my machine, and it actually felt like collaborating with an AI designer.

Results were close to Figma & Lovable, maybe with a tad fewer details.

I had a lot of fun with @lovable_dev. It nailed the setup on the first try, and leaned in into each theme even more than Figma Make.

Sometimes too much.
October 16, 2025 at 1:01 PM
@figma Make did a great one-shot design with a menu to flip between variants.

The themed ones (Retro & Brutalist) came out too cartoony, while Modern and Linear felt too simple.

Can AI create a sleek, $25k-design-agency website vs the usual “hairdresser salon” slop?

I tried five AI tools. It was impressive and nerve-wracking at the same time.

Here’s a breakdown:

Exploring some design concepts with @samedotdev for Wasp Design-AI-Thon - it's fun! It feels like "Cursor-in-the-IDE" and runs quite smoothly.

Great job @aidenybai and the team.

9 days to go! Here's what @hot_town came up with. Nice try but he's not gonna get a prize.

Had an amazing chat with @AmanVirk1 of @adonisframework, one of the OGs of the "batteries-included" JS frameworks. We chatted about framework creator life and what's coming next.

Super nice dude with a lot of passion for the ecosystem 🙇

In love with this nifty little productivity app @CameronPak made with @WaspLang. The UX is so clean and smooth.

This is probably the most real thing I read about vibe/ai-coding in a while. Full link in the comment.

We're deciding on prizes for our upcoming Design-AI-thon. We want to give out cool, well-designed pieces of hardware. Budget is $1000 for three prizes.

What shall we give away? Some of our ideas below:

Made by a community member - if you visit backend server instead of the client, this is the message you get.

Yay for this style or nay?

Just realized Wasp again got mentioned in @reactdaily, one of the largest React newsletters. Seems like we are going mainstream! 🐝
