A lot of cool stuff coming to Open SaaS! Vinny did a great job refining all the ideas and requests.

It's a goldmine for hungry OSS contributors.

The beautiful thing about a framework is that it is a pure idea - no any "physical" weight whatsoever. It's designing how one thinks.

It's not a SaaS that needs to be hosted in order to be "alive". No company has to exist to make it available.

I installed Zed and about to give it a test ride. I've been looking for a way to recreate my Vim setup. VS Code couldn't live up. This is a new ray of hope.

AI is bad at design for the same reason it's bad at humor - it lacks taste and subtlety.

"Vibe-coding at 3 am and you start feeling the code flowing through you"

We didn't know what we were doing even before AI. Now we can just not know faster.

Just spoke to a founder who built their business with Wasp and sold it for high five figures, and got an amazing new job.

Sorting out all the NDAs, and the story hopefully drops soon.

It's still hard for me to fathom we've built something that enables this.

One of our users struggled to build their app with lovable and finally found success with @opensaas_sh.

Their words: "I can do a change faster with some code rather than prompting it 50 times".

They use CC and cursor along with it ofc.

Building for developers feels like building a b2c product in many ways.

Design and appeal matter. People behind it matter.

Developers choose what solves the problem, but also what feels good and resonates.

Our Design-AI-Thon is over and we're now judging the submissions!

I like this one but kinda looks weirdly familiar... ☁️ 🔥

It's probably nothing

From my >15 years of coding, 90% of writing good software lies in giving good names to things.

Forget all about OOP patterns, crazy inheritance techniques, etc. When you'll need these, you'll know.

Read this (or feed it to your LLM) and start producing code that's joy to read:

We're back from our retreat in Heidelberg! It was amazing to see everybody in person again. A bunch of hacking, ideas exchanged and a lot of alignment on the big picture for @WaspLang.

More details coming soon!

I feel AGI is lowkey already here. We have a magic box which can answer any question. And it will keep getting better at it.

But most people don't feel that because it's simply not as helpful as they expected.

Internal @WaspLang hackathon is under way! The chefs are cooking 🧑‍🍳 🧅

We're kicking off an internal wasp hackathon tomorrow. Here's the list of ideas we came up with - which would you like to see?

Wasp retreat session #1 is in place! Having an amazing time in Heidelberg and enjoying @TinkTankSpace coworking.

We're going on a retreat tomorrow! It's always amazing to spend time with everyone in person.

What's your favorite thing to do on retreats?

Can AI create a sleek, $25k-design-agency website vs the usual “hairdresser salon” slop?

I tried five AI tools. It was impressive and nerve-wracking at the same time.

Here’s a breakdown:

I'd like to propose a new law: if you share a link to an article on Slack/Discord, you have to add some a TLDR below it. A few bullet points. An idea. Something.

If you just caption it with "interesting read", you go to jail.

Exploring some design concepts with @samedotdev for Wasp Design-AI-Thon - it's fun! It feels like "Cursor-in-the-IDE" and runs quite smoothly.

Great job @aidenybai and the team.

Most web frameworks have really boring websites.
All black & white sterile, or looks straight out of 2004 (cause it is).

We want to do better:

✦ 7 days to go
✦ Use any (AI) tool you want.
✦ Cool prizes by @useTRMNL, @jugendingenieur & Playdate.

Had an amazing chat with @AmanVirk1 of @adonisframework, one of the OGs of the "batteries-included" JS frameworks. We chatted about framework creator life and what's coming next.

Super nice dude with a lot of passion for the ecosystem 🙇

In love with this nifty little productivity app @CameronPak made with @WaspLang. The UX is so clean and smooth.
