As one of "the people of Texas," I'd like to point of that they never asked me if I wanted the maps redrawn.

Anything released would be unredacted under this law, ven victim and witness information. It is more likely they will try to fold the most damaging info into their ongoing investigations, and release all else. Something tells me this plan of theirs may backfire though. It would require competence.

I think this is accurate, but not entirely a cause for pessimism. They think they can use ongoing investigations to hide the most damaging files, and they're right. But they never factor in their own incompetence; they're bound to fu€k up the play and accidentally mail it all to one journalist.

She may even be thinking of challenging Vance in 2028. She can make the case that she fought for ACA subsidies and the release of the files when few other R's had the guts. She might even grab some of the lower-info dem voters, depending on her opponent. Her moves are making her stand out.

My personal theory is that MTG has been rebranding with the goal of taking the reigns of MAGA in a post-Trump world. Without him, their movement loses incredible moment; it needs a strong, boisterous personality at its center. MTG sees the schism, and is vying for custody of the kids.

Easy to moderate for. Just score their answers in terms of standard deviations from a national mean. The more variance in unit price, the more lenient the question.

With eyes that feast in reverence,
I consume the light you shed
And pray that there is enough
Gratitude in my body
To be content
With merely the miracle of sight

I would think it is. Even if Scotus doesn't give Texas a leg up, the redistricting war is a direct test of democracy's self-preservation. The maps were not fair to begin with, and may never be, unless a new amendment passes requiring all states to adopt independent districting committees.

Prop 50 was a successful ballot measure that requires an amendment to the state constitution. A court (any court, even SCOTUS) would have to prove that the election was rigged, which is a high bar, to even begin to challenge it. Prop 50 stays because it is the will of the voters.

I'd also like to point out that she isn't considering a run for President any time soon. Word is she's thinking on running for a senate seat, where unbeholden Democrats are in short supply. The recent shutdown faux pas is evidence of the risks of corporate influence in our party.

Her three PAC's? The ones that contributed less than a third of a percent of her fundraising for the 2024 cycle? As for military experience and foreign policy, she has nearly as much as Obama had in '08. You're right, it matters, as much now as it did then.

Now if that skillet had hash browns in it, that might soften the deal for me.

I kinda hope he runs so that he can get absolutely buried. As a Texan, I'd love to see him crash and burn almost as much as I'd love to see someone else representing me in the Senate.

It doesn't take a PhD to be born into inexhaustible wealth! You can do whatever you want!

Not material stuff about the external world, anyway. In my experience, prayer is useful with regard to introspection, self-regulation, and self-actualization. For everything else, there's math and science.

If Newsom is the Democratic Nominee, that'd be four general elections in a row where I am forced to vote for someone who I don't think will do a good job. Newsom will absolutely kowtow to corporate interests; the opposite of what we need right now. Now AOC is a different story.

We call it "dying." It's going to revolutionize the way we think about consciousness.

Fascinating, how aposamatism and pollinator syndrome are contrasting messages spoken in the same language.

It doesn't help that urban and rural areas are in such sharp political contrast; the centralization of blue voters in cities makes it all too easy for both phenomena to go unchecked.
