Just observed ICE agents transferring detainees between vehicles at Warren Park — city property. This is prohibited.

Many thanks to everyone who preordered a copy. Preorders are so important to getting books on bookstore shelves. I hope those of you who have already received a copy are finding the book useful. I was also honored to gift some copies to Chicago ICE watchers at a protest I organized last night.

I love my community.

I want to note that when I decided to invite folks to gather at the Morse el stop tonight, I was concerned about getting enough people to hold those nine letters. I thought, at most, 20 or so people might show up. But as this screenshot from Andy Thayer's video shows, it was much bigger than that.

At the end of the event, people were spirited, and I could feel something had shifted for a lot of us—the pain and frustration of a long day of attacks on our communities were still there, but we were also immersed in care and solidarity. Personally, I felt held, and I needed that.

Tonight, in Chicago, North Side rapid responders and community members held a vigil. At least ten people were abducted by ICE in Rogers Park alone today. We uplifted the message RESIST ICE in lights. We spoke out, sang together, grieved, and reaffirmed our commitment to defending our neighbors.

Two cats, both alike in dignity, yet often at war, have an uncharacteristically snuggly moment.

While out on our Halloween evening ICE patrol, we noticed that Red Vault, an adult fashion/fetish/toy store, had a mannequin with an orange whistle around its neck in the store's front window. They also had a sign declaring ICE was not welcome and were giving away free whistles. I love this city.

My adorable cats would never abide costumes. Can someone photoshop costumes onto my cats?

Tonight, @mayaschenwar.bsky.social and I organized an event for exhausted Chicago organizers to laugh, find some fellowship, and sing karaoke. Folks were masked when not eating, drinking or performing. Here are my beloved friends @prayingmantis.bsky.social and @thatguywasfly.bsky.social rocking out.

Tonight, we went to a candlelit string quartet performance at Bohemian National Cemetery. They played some classical pieces alongside themes from horror movies and TV shows. We had a great time.

They shot a reverend in the head with pepper balls for calling on them to redeem themselves. "I have not seen them cross the line yet" means the line doesn't fucking exist.

I donated some copies of Let This Radicalize You for distribution at an ICE watch training for folks who want to join school patrols in a nearby neighborhood. Not everyone got a copy, because 120 people showed up for that training tonight. I am endlessly proud of Chicago.
