It’s comforting for some lawyers to lament the “tough spot” Trump has put some law firms in. But I choose to remember what civil rights lawyers endured, and the integrity & courage they showed despite being considerably more vulnerable that well-resourced law firms being bullied by Trump.

Listening to the mother of former Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone describing on @joy.msnbc.com how she has been harassed and menaced is making my chest so tight. If your police union hasn’t condemned this conduct if, as a Member of Congress, you’ve condoned these pardons, you are a disgrace.

As I explained in my post about birthright citizenship, Native Americans do not derive their citizenship from the 14th Amendment but from the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924.
