Fackham Hall (2025) is genuinely a genuine film playing in genuine theaters right now that I think is aiming to be the Naked Gun of Downton Abbey parodies.

I urge you to see this laugh-free assemblage of fart jokes only to confirm I didn’t hallucinate its existence.

Looking for gift ideas for the holidays? How about picking up a steamy story to share with a loved one? All my novellas are available in print form in the link in my bio—and some in ebook form as well.

Think of the thanks you'll get when your favorite ho ho ho finds all five beneath the tree!

A couple of episodes in, I was half-considering ditching this final season and catchcing up later through recaps. But then this absolute icon made a reappearance.

I went into Eternity (2025) expecting a low-rent Defending Your Life. 100% it's exactly that, though mustering a handful of B-movie sentimental pleasures of its own. It's really a Miles Teller showcase, though, if anyone really asked for that in a film.

(But it's still Defending Your Life.)

Instead of The Upside Down, I went with A Woman’s Face (1941), in which a facial scar turns Joan Crawford into a cold-blooded criminal (sure!). There’s a wild scene in which Joan beats the crap out of a gal who flips on an electric lamp to get a good look at her.

Brendan Fraser is at his most emotionally open in Rental Family (2025), giving a sensitive performance that's equal parts dopey and sweet, like a lovable Labrador. I couldn't take my eyes off him. Despite a mid-film montage intended to gloss over some script cuts, it felt like a worthwhile view.

In what's becoming a regrettable holiday tradition, @tightywhitiesand.bsky.social convinced me to view A Very Kitty Cocktail Party, in which kittens in knitwear behave decorously among holiday decorations that they disdain to acknowledge.

It's like having Beatrix Potter injected into my veins.

I'd give anything for a General Jinjur movie.

May I quietly opine that Pluribus is my favorite show of 2025?

I won't invoke by name Netflix's first holiday movie of the season with Alicia Silverstone, because it features a teenaged witch gone right-wing nutjob and has far too many mentions of a disgraced wizardry franchise to be enjoyable.

But in the Netflix tradition, it features a guy's hard 6-pack.

The new Nintendo Store app in a midweek attempt to shame my life choices. I remain unmoved, however.

With its private jets, sports cars, luxury brand name dropping, flutes of bubbly, and scenery chewing by every actress of a certain age Ryan Murphy could cast in this high-camp schlockfest, All's Fair is at the same time a deeply terrible show and one I CANNOT WAIT to watch again and again.

Regretting You (2025) feels like insipid Hallmark fodder hopped up on product sponsorship deals, most egregiously an awkwardly-inserted extended paean to the joys of AMC theater concession stands.

The juveniles are fine. The adults involved seem embarrassed to have signed on. (With just cause.)
