Whatever you do, please don’t stop reading.

Read for joy. Read for education. Read for resistance. Read banned books. Read books by marginalized authors. Read about experiences that differ from your own.

Just. Keep. Reading.

Generally stay away from ‘celebrity’ books but Marvellous Messages: The Amazing Story of Communication by #roseaylingellis #andreamills #lenaaddink is not only an important book but brilliant fun to read time-travelling around the globe to see communication develop and meet key deaf people. Superb!

Over the past couple of years, I've made some teaching resources for a few of my favourite books (The Wrong Shoes is going to be added very soon). They're all available online and can be accessed from my Padlet. Hopefully, they're useful as a starting point. padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/r...

I'm doing the Barnes Kid Lit Festival this summer on the 4th of June. It's free for schools to sign up and it will be an event aimed at Y5 & Y6. Hope to see some of you there. I've linked the signup below:

“To See An Owl” by @cordellmatthew.bsky.social is a joyous book about sticking at it, being passionate about something ultimately that the journey is worth as much as the end. The art is stunning and the story is in its own words MAGIC! It’s a love letter to nature. Delightful!

Briefly, I'd like to explain why it exists, who I think will find it useful and where you can find it.

This is great for primary as well as secondary, I’d highly recommend any geography/curriculum leads read it.
Are you considering how to create a fascinating geography curriculum that delights and inspires?

It’s appealing to me but want to check whether it’s worth interrupting a series for!
