He’s misusing the word trial—which is ironic given that he had one just last year and was convicted of 34 felonies at the end of it.

I guess the remarkable thing here is that there’s not even a nominal “concession” from Sheinbaum. Nothing changed between yesterday and today on migration or drug policy, but the tariffs are gone. He backed down without an excuse.

I was someone praising Newsom for having some fighting spirit in him last year - eg vs DeSantis - but can’t really take him seriously after this, especially as he seems not to have pushed back on Kirk on a number of issues.
