Most unusual highlight was seeing reigning T20 World Cup champion Suzie Bates running drinks at Exmouth because she wasn't eligible for the County Cup! (Associated highlight: repeatedly trying to explain to my mum why Somerset were playing Durham in a small town in Devon.)

I've just clocked that there is an entire day of women's Blast fixtures scheduled on the day of the World Cup final.
Surely that's utter madness? In 2017 everyone from Alice Capsey to Lauren Bell went to Lord's. Now we're effectively saying that no young players can go & be inspired??

And while I'm at it, why the hell has women's sport got to follow the men's example of looking "hard" in team photos? It's such outdated imagery, teams can still compete and have the will to win without their players looking as miserable as sin. Quite frankly it looks a bit daft!
