Hey hey!

I’m Josh, nice to meet you! I’m a fullstack dev. Somehow, shrimp and food make it to my workplaces… either physically or in code. Got started by being a first hire in multiple start ups! Also, a dad to two beautiful cats, Milky Way and Comet
This is Milky Way (aka Mik Mik)

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

New blog: I’ll admit, this one’s a bit of a ramble, mostly because I care a lot about how we give feedback, how we receive it, and why it so often feels like an attack (even when it isn’t).

TL;DR: Feedback is care, when it’s done with intention.

today I learned about
how to make a child div stretch to it’s parents height…

parent: flex item-stretch
child: flex-grow

i’ve been doing a hacky approach like h-[calc(100dvh-3.5rem)] which could lead to silly height problems.

why didn’t i actually look this up before? 🤷🏽 12yr/o stackoverflow too

This is 100% going to get so much usage if this actually gets dropped!! such a big tease 😭😭
Introducing 🤯 flex-wrap: balance 🤯

Would you use this?

⚠️ Not a real feature yet, just something one of our engineers has been working on.

(You can try it out in the latest Chrome Canary with the experimental web platform features flag though!)

Super excited to try this out! Backend-agnostic too!? 🫢
🚨 Big news!

We’ve been collaborating with the legendary

Took a break from writing test and started adding more again. This week it reminded me that writing with Vitest, with a watcher, is such a pleasure. Using it to prototype, refine implementations, ensure regression and cover test cases. I moved slowly, but it enabled me to move faster and safer
