The nice lady on the phone said that the federal grants that fund their programs are currently on hold, and they don’t know if they will have any more money to put towards helping folks. She was even concerned about her job, as it is funded by one of those grants.

So as I’m researching alternatives for replacing the furnace in my wife’s house. I called Alaska Heat Smart to see if they had any programs that might help defray the cost of converting her heating system to a clean green heat pump.
