Yikes. Months of training. 24 years after I last did one of these and marathon day has finally arrived. Good luck to everyone eating up the miles at Brighton today.

I tied these ribbons to the railings today outside what was HMP Holloway. There is no other sign at the site to remind people that a thousand suffragettes were imprisoned here and some were tortured. #InternationalWomensDay

1/3 The tension between the public interest of reporting on suicide and the risk of intruding into grief and shock has been a key topic for us at today’s Suicide & Co Sector Summit at Church House in London where IPSO is exhibiting.

There was more than a touch of the drunken uncle about this feature.
Less than six months after rolling out a series of AI features, Apple is disabling one of its signature capabilities: aggregating and summarizing news notifications.
Apple Plans to Disable A.I. Features Summarizing News Notifications
The company’s Apple Intelligence system has erroneously characterized news stories, provoking a backlash from media companies.

The BBC World Service has broken its special coverage of Syria and the fall of Assad with the #ReithLecture on the notion of evil by forensic psychiatrist Gwen Adshead. An apt and prescient piece of programming. Her wisdom is staggering and always useful - especially now.

Loving the #SocEntAwards24 evening where it’s been an honour to be the “voice of god” for the last decade. Halfway through the celebration of the UK’s brightest businesses dedicated to making the world better. Beginning to sound like a Mongolian throat singer. @socialenterpriseuk.bsky.social 🏆😊🎤🇬🇧

This is a lovely, sad piece. I love Smithfield. The site’s history, its noise and smell. The (dwindling) community around it… finally set to be crowded out. This living heritage needs protection. It’s always struck me as ironic the Museum of London is capping the market’s decline.

Disgraceful scenes in the fish, chip (and, most relevant) kebab shop. So here’s a less shameful image of a Glen in a wood. Let’s focus on that memory.

A perfect storm of problems means more and more people are finding themselves homeless & sleeping rough & it’s getting worse - it’s a situation playing out across the country

Something for the wind powered water tower perverts. (Niche, I realise) and a weir surfing swan at Fairford mill. Lovely Cotswolds run. A different kind of action to the usual Kentish Town Road route.

Wonderful to be back at Macaroni Wood charity in the Cotswolds with the rootling pigs, scratching hens and strutting peacocks. Such a magical place for children who need it most.
