I think it was @youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com who said on here she was ready to read at least 10 think pieces on Wuthering Heights. I would like to submit this hilariously brilliant review of the movie to the committee. www.vulture.com/article/revi...

Was listening to the latest playlist from Sam Valenti's excellent Herb Sundays substack. PJ Harvey's The Devil from White Chalk came up on it and, this might be a hot take for Harvey fans, it's probably her best song.

Here's Sam's substack if your'e not familiar. herbsundays.substack.com

My Marvel ennui is profound but Wonder Man is actually a pretty great show. And somehow the small stakes drama of a well rounded character just trying to land an acting role is far more thrilling than any ludicrously expensive action scene from recent years.

I have the Google App on my iPhone. It sends me push notifications to news stories. Lately, when I click on the push, it increasingly takes me straight to AI mode where it gives me a summary of the push story. I did not input the query you see here. This is a big shift.

The street in Minneapolis where Renee Good was killed by ICE. Now a place of pilgrimage. Steady stream of people laying flowers and paying their respects. Many in tears and speaking of the deep fear they have of the federal government itself.

This is about as nerdy as I go but I recently bought a mechanical keyboard for my home office. The clicky sound is immensely satisfying the more I use it and I have to idea why. Either way, I am fully converted now.

Because I just grabbed my last one from the box, a reminder that the best pen I have found on the market is these. Former flatmate was an architectural engineer. His entire office used them. As soon as he lent me one I was hooked. Nothing beats them.

Sad news. The way Parr captured very real moments with just a touch of absurdity made the UK feel like such a unique place when I was young and looking at it from overseas. There’s an enormous slice of modern photography that is indebted to him.

From sunbathers to Conservative clubs, Parr’s images were often in vivid colour with more than a dash of humour

This Adam Friedland Show Mamdani interview is fascinating. This isn't my original idea but showing you can hang is critical for a politician in the algorithimic attention era. How he does it here is masterful and so digitally native. And he's doing it on an absurdist comedy interview series.

Rosalia’s Lux is one of those records that on paper I would look at the composite parts and think interesting but not one for my regular rotation pile. But I’ve been completely hooked the past 24 hours and can’t stop listening.

I've not tried lossless streaming audio until Spotify added it to premium finally. Good god. It's like listening to a CD again in terms of audio quality but I feel like I've finally emerged from the cave. Note you need wired headphones or expensive bluetooth ones that support lossless.
