Addendum: A certain religion has created American versions that completely neglect what Christ actually taught, turning it into a eugenicist, pro-military, "being poor and unhealthy means you are full of sin" strain that assures its adherents it's good to be greedy, mean, and awful.

My general point is that, yes, I wish the Democrats were more effective, but...
1. People seem to think the reason everything is fucked can be laid at their feet.
2. Even when they win, a lot of folks won't accept those wins, and will abandon the Dems AGAIN as soon as things go south.

Meanwhile, we're still dealing with all the authoritarian shit Bush Jr. and Cheney were allowed to set in place after 9/11 made people lose their goddamned minds—to the point where they saw no problem with torture, bombing innocents, and invading and occupying other countries.

So you have some 300 years of entrenched racism, sexism, nativism, and general idiocy perpetuated by psychopaths who taught their children and grandchildren down is up and black is white. We also have tycoons with literal unlimited funds who believe all sorts of end times and might is right BS.
