Listen, it’s time to be blunt:

*The Constitution no longer applies

*We live in a dictatorship

*There isn’t gonna BE a midterm election

And for those of you about to come at me with “go high” or “don’t play into their hands”… how many murders is too much. Asking for MN.

"Don't escalate!"

They are murdering people. Stop talking about escalation. You can't escalate past murder. What they're telling us to do is sit back and let it happen again and again.

Guys, I'm a filter challenged foreigner seeing what is going on in your country and despairing for my own which is right next door and constantly bearing the wrath of your crazy leader. Please forgive my insensitivity. Please take someone else's word for it. "Do not go gentle into that good night"

It's taken almost a year. If Trump had shot three citizens on the 23rd of January,2025 there would have been pandemonium. As it is, the temperature has steadily and consistently been going up for 370 days. Is it me or is it starting to smell like soup in the US?

Former US president Obama posted today on Bluesky, calling current events an assault on core US values. Given the history of US soft power and interventionalism in the 20th and 21st century, I would call this the natural and expected evolution of US core values.

I think the difference here is that Rittenhouse never attempted to help a fallen woman and never recorded law enforcement on his phone.

(4) but now it’s white Americans getting shot in the streets and people are saying this has never happened before. You don’t hear much about Keith Porter. He was brown so that’s normal. White Americans will have to learn or self-destruct. History doesn’t lie.

(3) let’s not forget the “Indian wars” of the 1890s where women’s breasts were used to make saddle bags by US soldiers, or FDR interring Japanese Americans at camps that weren’t livable.

(1) What this is a reckoning for white America. Before we were even a country we were enslaving Africans, killing them, and massacring Native People. Andrew Jackson sent troops into Cherokee homes and forced them to march halfway across the country. He told John Marshall to enforce treaties.

Prescient, brilliant expert on autocracy and how democracies fail. I do not understand why there weren't many more people reading her book on how civil wars start. This article should be required reading.

We should be securing our national transport infrastructure. The stretch between Winnipeg and Kenora where the Trans-Canada plus both CN and CPKC rail lines bottleneck is far too easy a point to disrupt. What would have sounded like paranoia only a year ago now seems more like pragmatism.
