If you're angry about these tariffs, call your reps. No, seriously, even if you're in a deep red state. Today, the aides I spoke with were scrambling to come up with a response, as they're hearing from all sorts of people who don't usually call or follow up. Make them feel that pressure.

No game can trigger my ADHD hyperfocus like this one. I feel so high when I play it.
Finally got my long time grail game Millenium Blades to the table. Abstraction can be a dirty word in the hobby but where most games abstract theme in the service of mechanics, MB abstracts mechanics in the service of theme.

Live in Ohio? You need to get on the phone and in inboxes ASAP.
The new Ohio House budget would change the public library funding model, slash $100 million from libraries over the next two years, require relocating all trans/gender related books from eyesight of those under 18, and so much more.

This is *devastating*

Productions costs are the one area where I find people have the least amount of knowledge, while believing they have a competent amount.
The only part of this comment that matters.

I like the stuff we make, but #Ashes is easily my favorite of our titles. I’m obsessed with it. Crave more of it. I couldn’t be happier or prouder of what we’re doing with it right now.

Close to 400k words. That's like four novels! We worked on this behemoth for some time and are super proud. If you like adventure games with narratives that react to player choice, please check Wandering Galaxy out!
"...would probably bet right now that this will end up being my game of the year..."

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place

Such a fun read, and terribly insightful.
Back on the other site I had a long thread of contrarian (but sincerely-held) board game design hot takes. Here's a shorter thread with the best of them. 🧵

We are working to restore services. We will need to halt all services until updates are resolved. Most functionality will not work.
At this moment there is no timeline for how long services will be down.

keep up to date here:

When I was learning to cook, my mother shared her recipes and techniques with me. Then she let me in on a fun little secret: whenever anyone asked her for her recipe to something, she would sabotage them and change 1-2 important aspects of the recipe. Another fun secret: my mother is a bad person.

K so yesterday I polled Bluesky and doing a thread on why "it's easy for anyone to make a game and that sucks" won. So this is why it's too easy for anyone to make a game and why that sucks.

This is a hideous betrayal, not to mention the equivalent of someone shooting themselves in the foot with their own gun.

One of the interesting things about joining a social media platform is what your feed looks like while you’re still finding profiles to follow. You can follow 1-2 new profiles and suddenly your feed is radically different.

I love the idea of boss battlers, but don’t really care for how they’re implemented in board games. There was a PC game that came out forever ago called Warning Forever. I loved its simplicity and wish there was a board game kinda like that.

Right now I’m wrestling with the largest PHG project to date, but I picked up a copy of Burning Banners as a treat. Not allowed to touch it until the project is done. Cannot wait.
