Huron Consulting has begun its work at the U of MN and today, my bosses are shocked to discover that this is about cuts, not efficiency. It’s a hollow “I told you so” for me.

If I’m so smart, well, would anyone like to hire me? Come ~Feb/March, my job will be either gone or unlivable.
AAUP statement: "The American University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) expresses its grave concern with the decision of the Administration to hire the Huron Consulting Group."

We don't have enough people doing what they can but I am so grateful to those who are. Thank you.

Actually taking the time to make the call, send the letter, show up to the meeting, write the check, go to the protests, do actual mutual aid. Thank you.

On the 20th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, it’s important for us as a nation to reflect on that conflict and its consequences. As the vice president of the United States in 2003, I was one ...

So many ppl hear pretty lies about T/GOP & ugly lies about Dems & vote as if the lies were true.

The first time I saw a doodoo baggie on the walking path I thought, “were they lost? Are they coming back for it once they find a trash can?” I was that naive.

Now I’m the someone who carries the baggie to the trash can.

Sometimes this feels metaphorical.
I like the people who pickup after their pets and leave the little bag for someone else to carry.

I'm grateful to have the support of neighbors in every part of this city, people who are ready for leadership that reflects our shared values.

I hope you'll rank me first for Mayor of Minneapolis on November 4 because we deserve better.

Seen on my little walk through the Kingfield neighborhood: signs for Davis, Hampton and Soren, and a Frey sign propped up in a trash can. Haha

This is pretty great
My pastor tried to have a memorial sermon on Charlie Kirk.

Promptly got yelled at by every member of the congregation that showed to the meeting.

For an hour from what I heard.

This morning I was reminded of what's at stake for all of us in this election. It doesn't have to be like this. With principled, compassionate leadership, we can do so much better.
We deserve a city government that works for all of us—where decisions are made based on what’s right for the people of our city, not based on who is most loyal to the mayor.

We deserve better.

Through the Mapping Prejudice project, I learned of this new opportunity: Save Our Signs, archiving photos of interpretive signs at National Parks before they're removed. Anyone can get involved. It's sobering to see what history lessons have already been taken down, but we have to do what we can.

If the impending freeze of SNAP benefits is what has you particularly animated, these questions might help. You can really substitute any issue and ask the same questions of yourself.
4 grounding questions [if useful at this moment]:

1. What resources exist so I can better educate myself [about x issue]?
2. Who's already doing work around this injustice?
3. Do I have the capacity to offer concrete support & help to them?
4. How can I be constructive?

One of the most heartwarming things about these protests is that blue dots in red towns are finding their people. A big salute to you brave resisters. Party on!
Spooner, Wisconsin. Deeeeep in MAGA-land had over 400 people show up! Spooner has a population of 2400! It was great!

Richfield, MN (just south of south Minneapolis) Indivisible has outdone itself again. Looked like well over the 500 that were at June No Kings.
Lots of noise from the cars, all cheers, no jeers that I saw.
