Only in England does it rain even when it's sunny.

One sure way to make it stop raining is to run back home to grab an umbrella.

As someone who floats between realms of medieval scholarship a lot, I find it interesting that on the French side, they still use "Saracen" casually, while everyone else seems to have collectively decided that it is pretty much a slur, to be used only between quotation marks. Have you observed this?

I love my fellow humans and respect their dignity and being, but they become real monsters in the library. No one is at their best when deadlines are looming.

As someone who works on a study abroad program, the trouble is, it is often not my circus, but they are still my monkeys.

Obsessed with this bookshop in Bath. It is enormous, but still loving curated and cozy (they even serve you complimentary tea!)

I am so looking forward to this when Daisy brings it to Oxford next month! I think I will be an emotional wreck.
Looking forward to performing the 13th c. Yde and Olive at Wolverhampton Literature Festival. Yde dresses herself as a knight and cuts her own paths to freedom. She meets her match in Olive: a woman whose spirit is as courageous as her own...

Some highlights for me from the British Library exhibition: the Luttrell Psalter, a scroll recording the questioning of Eleanor Rykener, Christine de Pizan's Book of the Queen, and this Mortuary for Lucy of Hedingham. There were so many more amazing books and objects!

The Medieval Women in Their Own Words exhibition was so beautifully designed. I was stunned.

Possibly our favourite snow pic from yesterday, showing the Rad Cam. Taken by our very own librarian www.instagram.com/spiralling_oxford.
