I went to Japan and shot a few rolls of film on a cheapo toy camera, rolls of film which were x-rayed four times before they were developed - some with an iso of 800 - and among all the overexposed, blurry, and grainy shots there are some real gems every now and then.

I hadn't though about what colour they would be actually - presuming one might go for a green for evens, red for odds to show that one is good and one is bad, you'd probably need a base colour that doesn't swallow either of those colours. Maybe a neutral black or white, or a blue.

Share your favourite black and white movie

The first one that i thought of anyway!

I've magicked up a map for Witching Winds inspired by marbled endpapers and thermal imaging.

It's supposed to be an in-setting artwork created by a psychic wanderer, who received a vision of the islands of the archipelago and their broad spatial relationship at that point in time... (1/x)

Doodle (after Seignac) of a noblewoman and a handsy mummer

What is your favourite and least favourite film by one of your favourite film makers? 📽️ #Filmsky

One is the best remake I know, both bringing the story back closer to the source while honing in on the anxieties of late-stage cold war and AIDS crisis America - the other has shit wigs.

Quite shit to hear about the verification nonsense, but in unrelated good news for Nobby but myself: got my logo on a t shirt

A robot that isn’t from “Star Wars,” “Star Trek,” “Dr. Who,” or “Transformers.”

First concept for a back cover for Witched Winds. The overall vibe is what I'd like it to be, but it's not so great in all the details yet.

The longer I looked at last nights cover mock-up the less I liked the colours and lack of depth of it all, so when I got home today I had to rework it a little more. I think it looks a lot better like this, almost passable for a one-person project.

I was tired of writing more rules so I started noodling a cover design for Witching Winds - one I'd use as a placeholder while I itch-fund for artists. I was looking at a lot of art nouveau book covers recently so I got into an angular, graphic mood. I don't hate the direction of this tbh.

Mantis-snail, Snail-mantis - it's a slimey one for sure.

What's the cover art that got you started in the TTRPG hobby? Here's mine:

Picturetime again, I've started on my "Faeries", which in W.W. is what humans often end up calling any weird sapient being that has a lot of insect characteristics. Like this one.

Ok Mothheads, I had a training montage just now that was just me shouting at myself going "Edit! Simpler! This has to go on a book's spine!" while staring at my latest logo idea. Took a lot of stuff out and thought more in fields than lines, this is what it looks like now. Tell me you love it.

With the name/logo excitement I forgot to post my latest illustration - truly a creature to strike terror in the hearts of seamen and casual beach-goers alike. I'll be moving on to what they call Fairies or Fey in my setting, beings with insect characteristics.

Still thinking about logos - the skeleton idea just came about because I wanted to lean into the Emperor moth having eyes on its wings, completing the illusion of a face. But a skeleton adds unwanted darkness where I'd prefer psychedelic weirdness, so I stripped it down to just an added mouth here:

Take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know:

I've done some real quick logo ideas for Mothmind Press, so I might as well see what the public thinks. They are:

Emperor Moth on a skull, making some eyes
Moth eating a book
Moth (now a guy?) looking into crystal ball
Moth that vaguely looks like an M (based on the elephant hawk m.)

Thoughts?

Drew some happy bog creature. Boggard? Bogboy? He's having a nice swim either way, not caring about the terminology.

As promised I'm on to drawing amphibian and aquatic weirdos for my ttrpg setting/system. This kind I call "Drip-Drops", and I love them. Would defend with my life.
May 3, 2025 at 2:07 PM
A ratty lady as my last doodle of an urban to semi-rural resident of the non-human parts of my fantasy TTRPG. I'll move on to sketching some amphibian and aquatic things next. Probably going to get swampy with it too.
April 27, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Another doodle, this time of some guy up gargin' their goyle. Always troubling when the walls start to run around.
April 20, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Another doodle of a strange creature magic created in my TTRPG setting. Since magical mutations are unpredictable and ignore natural laws the creations defy neat categorisation also. Humans might apply old names for spirits unto them depending on where they are found.
April 18, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Feeling dread about the world but made myself doodle something for my game as a distraction. It features magical forces changing and mutating everything they touch beyond where humans can ward them away, so I get to invent weird creatures. To start, this is a borderline normal gal.
