You literally STOPPED fighting because Trump threatened to delay your private plain trips. What is wrong with you?

I, too, wish people could be paid fairly for the time they spend making art.

But the only way that will ever happen is with universal basic income.

Until then, most of us will keep on doing it for free.

That is a good thing, if you have the luck and know how to make it happen.

But, just as with all sorts of artistic endeavors, the vast majority of participants aren’t really in it to get paid. They just want to spread the love.

Starting at the character level makes it easy to extrapolate outwards to a regions music, cultural values, ethnic makeup, government, etc.

Counter-intuitively, I find the key to creating a believable nation/culture/ region/etc is always to start by creating a character I’d like my players to interact with there.

They could be someone important or they could be a humble villager.

Then I think about where that person comes from.

I’ve done adventures but mine usually end up more like pre-prepped GM notes with a premise, characters, points of interest, and thematic monsters/adversaries to populate the world with.

If you do it right you can “suggest” a beginning, middle, and end while still leaving things blissfully open.

This is probably the hardest arena in the game. Leaving and coming back later isn’t a bad thing!
