I have a letter board on my wall that I bought from Target that says "YOU DON'T ALWA S HAVE TO HAVE ALL YOUR SHIT TOGETHER" because the "Y" in "always" kept breaking off.

Day 5: Coca-Cola with cherry. I went with what I thought was a more conventional choice. But this is * not * cherry coke. I don't understand how/why but I it undermines the entire project. If you can't put cherry in coke and get cherry coke... it tastes like fruit stripe gum. .7 peach mello yello

Day 4: Lime Seagram's Ginger Ale. It's okay. The lime is a nice complication of the ginger-y flavor. Kinda tastes like Hornitos Reposado. .65 peach mello yellos.

Day 3 Barqs Cream Soda with Orange. Oh my goodness. This tastes exactly like Dixie cups vanilla and orange sherbert. It even has the mouth feel of melted ice cream. This is delicious. 1.5x peach mello yello. Would be higher, but it's too rich for a beverage accompaniment to lunch.

Day 2 Cherry Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper is famously with 23 different flavors but it always tasted mostly of prune to me. Adding cherry seemed to rebalance away from the prune flavor. Dr P is still too sweet to me but the cherry didn't make it worse. .8 Mello Yellos

Day 1: The first soda combination and the yard stick of all subsequent flavors will be peach mello yello. I have rarely encountered mello yello outside the context of a future soda machine but it's supposed to be Coke's version of Mountain Dew. Okay. Sure.

Oh, my husband argues with me *every year* that this is anomalous. Meanwhile have "memories from this day" pics to prove it (2015, 2020, 2022). It's never *all* January, but there will be days like this almost every January.
