I was using Crayola markers for quick color before but they were bleeding through the pages really bad. So I picked up some Mildliners to try and I like these way better + they don't bleed nearly as much. Also the pastels are extra cute ♡

Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.

Processing yesterday's news about Guantanamo Bay.
I channeled everything I'm feeling into a large acrylic/ crayon painting which I then sliced up and curated into my sketchbook. Under each mini reads "impounded," referencing Dorothea Lange's work documenting Japanese Internment Camps during WWII.
