I was using Crayola markers for quick color before but they were bleeding through the pages really bad. So I picked up some Mildliners to try and I like these way better + they don't bleed nearly as much. Also the pastels are extra cute ♡

2nd page for today. I love making marks like a child scribbling outside the lines. ♡

Started my warm up today with this page as a reminder that sketchbooks are for Play, not for Perfection.

Also started a new big piece that I haven't decided what to do with yet.

Processing yesterday's news about Guantanamo Bay.

I channeled everything I'm feeling into a large acrylic/ crayon painting which I then sliced up and curated into my sketchbook. Under each mini reads "impounded," referencing Dorothea Lange's work documenting Japanese Internment Camps during WWII.

I started this sketchbook to fail with purpose. Rules for this sketchbook are:

1) Only ink (or another form of permanent media)
2) I have to draw everything I think of, no matter how strange

I'm loving it so far 😌🤌
