It is kind of twisted that, when meeting a new person, the answer we feel we have to give to the question "What do you do?" is about what we do for our employers. Yeah, that does take up most of my time, but it's not what makes me 𝐦𝐞, and it's not what I do 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞.

The prequel trilogy Jedi are pretty CIA-coded. Tasked with settling disputes and protecting regimes that uphold the hegemony of the Republic (which doesn't always neatly map but at various times is a stand-in for the US, the UN, or the broader, supposedly liberal-democratic, West).
