This is abhorrent. It’s time we leverage our spending power to make change. Please like and repost.

5. Confronted with an argument that this allows students to bully cis students by misgendering them as well, the judges said that such conduct would be barred. Misgendering cisgender students would be "ridiculing their physical characteristics." But apparently not when its done to trans students.

Right now the one benefit ATProto theoretically has over Mastodon is post migration. But there are fediverse softwares other than Mastodon (that communicate with masto ofc) that have that, so fedi as a whole is already more decentralized, and Mastodon might implement post migration soon, so... Yeah

It's also showing anyone who's actually interested in Bluesky as a Fediverse that the CEOs have a kill switch which essentially defeats the purpose.

It's just twitter. Bsky is just twitter. Everyone was put off by the actually decentralized platforms and went to Twitter 2 instead. And now Twitter 2 is rapidly collapsing into Twitter 1 and we're all gonna act surprised even though it was literally made by the same people.

It really makes me wonder what the value proposition of ATProto even is, if federation is more fragmented than Mastodon in practice, harder to set up than Mastodon, and if Bluesky the company is going to run the main instance as unprofessionally as a Mastodon instance owner on a power trip.

And that’s because we are in a transition period where programmers who understand code well enough to check are still working.

Once we have only a generation of vibe coders, they may as well be praying to the Machine God.

I mean, it's not like Bush's response was particularly great either... We don't need to compare the fascists, they can all be bad

Because I feel like the *instant* that everything with lootboxes or other gamble-y mechanics gets delisted from Steam or whatever, larger publishers are suddenly gonna be *way* more interested in throwing around their weight to say "Hey, uh, payment processors should not be able to dictate this." 🤔

Also funny how the masters of AI are not using it as a shortcut to riches but instead are trying to sell it as a shortcut to riches.

So yeah as long as your taxes are less than 50% for people making less than 30k a year, I'd
take that in a heartbeat

But in the US, we pay as much in taxes as most of Europe (or more) and we still have to pay for healthcare on top of it... My spouse's last job offered health insurance, they'd have to pay over half their paycheck every month and then even more if we actually used the healthcare whatsoever...
