When we see blatantly insincere religious grifts like "Prosperity Gospel", or the acquisitiveness and opulence of many churches, it is easy to think that all religion is a scam like this. Certainly some of the more culty religions are exactly like this but most long-lasting religions are not.

I finally finished a deep dive on the word “desire” in Genesis 3:16 for my class. The Hebrew word for “desire“ is “teshuqah” but previous Bible versions used “turning” or “return” instead which totally changes the narrative of the verse.
