The cliff that Ellie descended on her charity abseil at Peacehaven. Ellie is near the bottom and her husband and daughter are waiting for her.

Ellie has done her charity abseil and raised 360% of her target. A big gust of wind blew her sideways just as she'd got going and later a lump of chalk from the cliff fell on her helmet, but she completed the abseil!

Another knitted/crochet postbox topper by the Beckenham Library Knit And Natter Group. This was on the box near the library in May 2025. It's a large roadworks cone in red and white with a caption card saying 'NEW TOPPER UNDER CONSTRUCTION'.

Another Post Box Topper in Beckenham. This is a nativity scene for Christmas in December 2024. The creator put a notice on it to ask people to stop sheep rustling - it was missing many sheep when I took the photo!

The end of my road does not look as nice as some pictures from @lomelindi12.bsky.social where the road ends in the sea.

But the fenced wood, with no access, is a tiny wild remnant of the Great North Wood that used to cover a large area from Croydon to Southwark.

Because of the hot weather, my optician is now selling sunglasses for ice-creams! The shop window caught the attention of a lot of shoppers.

whenever they ask for my name to write it on the cup in Starbucks I say "number 6" and I still have one of the cups. I was once served by a teenage nerd who was a Prisoner fan and we had a good laugh!

damn I had the same idea too, but mine was in Croydon so I've cut the nasty bits off the bottom of frame! (@16:43 today)

On midsummer (22 June), when I visited a small pub, I found out what Father Christmas (Santa Claus) does on that day. He delivers beer kegs down the pub chimney!

The sky yesterday was very blue without any clouds #bluesky, and lots of cherry tree blossom!

After a walk on a cold misty day I like to call into a local coffee shop to warm up, read a chapter from a book, listen to music, eat an almond croissant, drink a cappucino and find out from the TFL app when the bus home will be!

Even a good sunset can't make Croydon (South London) truly pretty.

What's better than a library card?

Two cards and a date stamped loan!

Last month a shrub in a local park that I'd not noticed before, the Beautyberry, had a lot of fruit. The Callicarpa is not native to Europe.
